Write a clear goal
Describe the result you want, who owns it, and how the household will recognize success. Use chores, todos, routines, or habits for the repeatable work that supports the goal.
Fund a financial goal from a wallet
A cents-based financial goal uses the wallet_allocations source. Wallet total is the signed reward ledger balance. Earmarked is the net amount allocated to saving or funded goals. Available equals total minus earmarked. Earmarking changes available balance, not wallet total, and chore earnings enter the wallet before a separate allocation.
A goal moves from saving to funded when its target is reached. Funded does not mean purchased: the earmark remains until an approved purchase consumes it or cancellation releases it. An allocation stops at the remaining target, so any extra wallet money stays available. A partial approved purchase releases the unused earmark, and a goal may display its safe emoji.
- Create a cents-based goal for the intended member.
- Review total, earmarked, available, target, funded, and remaining amounts.
- Preview an allocation, move, release, or cancellation before applying it.
- For a funded goal, a child can create a pending purchase request with no balance effect; an owner/admin request applies immediately, or an owner/admin can approve a pending child request.
Use member permissions
A child can read and allocate or release their own approved available funds and create pending external-funding or purchase requests. Owners and admins can act for household members: their direct external-funding and purchase requests apply immediately, while approval/rejection actions resolve pending child requests. Owners and admins can reject pending purchases with a required audit reason and append compensating funding corrections without changing wallet total. A non-admin adult cannot read or change another adult.s private wallet unless existing wallet policy allows it.
